Physical Requirements to Perform Martial Arts

An often heard question I receive is how strong one has to be to get involved in martial arts. The short answer is like with most things: “It depends.” I realize how useless that sounds so let’s see if we can shine some light on that topic in this article.

So why does one need to be strong enough at all?

The argument from the student could be that they don’t plan to become a security guard, or MMA fighter or something like that. Well… if you think like that why don’t you just start some yoga classes or something? Nothing wrong with that, right?

Thing is though, for a wide range of martial arts there are no physical strength requirements at all. In other words its one big misconception that has been going around for ages. Hope that clarifies it enough.

Now if you are training to prepare for some sort of job in security then we do expect you to pass our physical strength endurance test so that we can tailor the course for you, only for you to get the most out of it.

So if you’re completely out of shape you might want to start with some basic work outs, after all, how can we teach you certain kicks if you can hardly lift your foot off the floor? Makes sense right!

I’ve been thinking about kickboxing myself and the first thing I indeed thought about when I watched some people training. I will be freaking exhausted within a minute, and those guys just keep on kicking and punching those sacks or whatever for at least 20-30 minutes. Holy crap, I ain’t gonna make that.

So yeah, for martial arts, with less of the actual arts form you need to be strong, in good condition, and preferably healthy as well as we don’t want to see you get a heart attack during training, so quit smoking, start running, or get yourself a cross trainer and work on yourself before you sign up for the more physical training sessions, and believe me, you won’t regret it.

It would also increase your confidence as it’s probably not a pretty sight for the others when you’re exhausted within a minute and you might fall prey to some jokes, and I’m sure that’s not what you signed up for.

Now if you do want to start immediately I recommend you follow one of the free classes at the London Fight Factory, just give them a call in advance and they will suggest what’s best for you. Just be honest with them, and yourself!

How to Make Money on Instagram as a Designer

There is no better place to showcase your skills as a designer than on Instagram. The numbers are simply mind-bending. Imagine getting a chance to place your work right in front of an audience of close to 1 billion people. That would be great, wouldn’t it? But, you have to know how to separate yourself from every other designer on Instagram to make any substantial gains. These tips will come in handy.

Get the Followers

This one is pretty obvious. However, there’s only one problem. You have to do a lot of hard work to get the followers. Besides, creating a solid footprint on Instagram isn’t as easy as you’d think it is. It is for this reason that you should seriously consider buying Instagram followers. The idea is to get people behind you in the hope to attract more organically. It can also be a great strategy to increase your followers when your numbers subside.

Either way, you have to know where to buy followers to avoid getting scammed and most importantly get the attention you’re looking for from potential customers. And, just in case you’re wondering where to buy followers, this article is a good place to start.

Make Use of Instagram TV

Once you’ve started to gain followers, the next thing that you need to do is to market your work. One of the most efficient ways to do so is to use Instagram’s standalone video-based app. And the beauty of it is that you don’t need to be an accomplished motion graphics expert to showcase your videos with your audience.  In fact, if you plan to share vertical videos, you only require your phone to create them.

See, Instagram TV allows you to take your creativity to the next level. You can use it to create content such as DIY tips, vlogging, and testimonials from clients to mention but a few.  Or, you may start a series of helpful info regarding a particular topic.

The Bottom Line

There’s so much you can do with Instagram as a designer.  In fact, if you are not yet on the platform, you should join as soon as possible. Remember to optimize your bio because it is an essential part of bringing people into your account. Also, tell your potential followers what you are all about and what you have to offer. In other words, make your profile as informative as possible.
